  19. GHENT, September 22, 1994 --- FirstClass NV today announces the
  20. availability of Tailor Office 2.0c and Tailor Publishing 2.0c on
  21. NEXTSTEP for HP PA-RISC.

  23. New Tailor Revision
  24. ===================
  25. Tailor 2.0c is the latest revision of the proven visual PostScript
  26. editor.  It is provided as a Multiple Archtitecture Binary for HP
  27. PA-RISC, Intel and Motorola.  In addition to some minor problems
  28. fixes, there are important new features :
  29.  
  30.          - Support for the Open Object Embedding standard proposed
  31.                  by Xanthus Int.
  32.          - Use of CrashCatcher from WhiteLight Systems to improve
  33.                  robustness
  34.          - German on-line help
  35.  
  36. A complete distribution package for Tailor 2.0c is available from
  37. the Oregon State archive server (see below).  Owners of Tailor
  38. Office or Publishing 2.0a can upgrade to 2.0c at no cost (other
  39. than downloading the distribution package) using the same license
  40. strings.

  42. In demo mode (i.e. when unlicensed) Tailor 2.0c is fully
  43. functional except :
  44.  
  45.          - it does NOT load keystones (ReconstructText,
  46.                  SaveIllustrator,...),
  47.           - it has disabled output functions (save, print, copy).
  48.  
  49. Open Keystone API
  50. =================
  51. Keystones are dynamically loadable extensions for Tailor.  The
  52. keystone programming interface specification is now available from
  53. the Oregon State archive server (see below).  The specification
  54. includes full documentation on how to write keystones.  Several
  55. source code examples are provided.
  56.  
  57. This means that users or third parties can develop specific
  58. solutions, leveraging the power of the base application.

  62. The files listed below have been submitted to the Oregon State
  63. archive server (ftp.cs.orst.edu).  They now reside in
  64. /pub/next/submissions and will soon be transferred to
  65. /pub/next/demos/graphics by the archive administrator.
